My name is Joseph Robert Stannis, and I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (Tumor in the Brain), when I was 28 years old. I was a healthy and very active young man; I would go to the YMCA every day for 3 hours and lift weights and swim.
On April 23 2014 is when my war with cancer started, and it hit me like a ticking time bomb. I was in the hot tub when the first and only symptom occurred, and that was a seizure. I do not remember anything after the seizure took place. I found out the details by people telling me after I had woken up, and was able to hold a conversation. The lifeguard on duty jumped in the hot tub and pulled me to the surface and held my head above water for X minutes while an ambulance was called. I remember being on the stretcher and people calling my name, telling me I had a seizure and was on my way to the hospital.
After finding all of this out, and going through 30 rounds of Radiation , and Surgery, and a year supply of Chemotherapy. Bills Started to add up quick, i had to be off work for 8 months, so with no money coming in and chemo alone costing $7000.00 a treatment. Needless to say i need some help, so i am asking you for your help as well as for your support while i fight this nasty and cruel Disease.
