Overland Mother Hit and Run Victim
Donation protected
On September 4th a mother of two was hit by an SUV while crossing the road near Marion Elementary School in Overland, MO. The driver then fled the scene and has not yet been obtained.
Rachel had just dropped off her daughter and was crossing back over the road in which a crossing guard was posted opposite. When crossing an SUV ran the red light at a speed that threw Rachel over the vehicle. Rachel was transported to a local trauma center with injuries that have required surgery and over a week of hospitalization. Rachel will also be requiring physical therapy upon discharge and will be unable to work due to injuries.
Because the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident and has yet to be obtained. This leaves Rachel in a very unfortunate situation both physically and financially. The medical costs will be high, and the time off work will be a hardship.
Rachel is a sweet caring person, who loves her kids and her family. I know there are lots of people out there who would love to help and I wanted to give them an outlet to do so. Any donation no matter how small will be a blessing.
I will try to give updates on Rachel's condition and any changes in the hit and run case as they come in and as Rachel and her family approve.
