Overdue hip replacement

I have had several examinations by the NHS with a view to replacing my worn out right hip. 3 times I have had a date fixed for the operation and 3 times it has been cancelled because my general health has been below par. As I also suffer from COPD, a breathing complaint,
together with Myeloma a blood cancer then windows of opportunity between Chemo courses and good breathing don’t arrive very often. 2 such windows happened recently but because of the time it took in getting several Consultants agreements together, the opportunities were missed. If I could afford to have private treatment, this could be arranged at very short notice. Now that I am 2 years overdue in having this operation the pain, despite having pain killers, is becoming intense and quite unbearable, being 84 years old doesn’t help either! The operation would cost £14-15,000 plus the cost of nursing aftercare in a high dependency unit and specialised equipment would cost in the region of my target.
