Overcoming The Worst Experience Of My Life

Donation protected
For those that don’t know me, I’m Jonny, 32 from Halifax. Less than a month ago I found a large lump on my right testicle with no additional symptoms or pain. After a few days this lump did not change. When consulting a GP they referred me to an Ultrasound within 3 days. The day of the ultrasound I received a call from a surgeon at Huddersfield infirmary and informed that it was in fact cancerous and needed to be removed within 2 days. Friday 9th may I had the simple surgery and my the testicle removed, I was then advised that the cancer was clear, scans were clear and I just needed to let the would heal. Monday 12 May, I received a call from Leeds St James hospital asking me to attend CT scans and many blood tests that week has a precaution. Saturday 17th may I was requested to go visit St James Leeds hospital, where I met with the doctors and leads there. After a couple of scans, X rays and blood tests. They advised the following:

  • my cancer had spread into my blood cells
  • i had 3 high risk blood indicators, one which was very very concerning.
  • i have a cancerous node in my lower abdomen
  • a few small tumours in my chest
  • an 8mm brain tumour on the right side of my brain, which has reduced to 6.5mm
  • a smaller 1.5mm tumour on the left side of my brain.

treament for all this is 4 full cycles of intense chemo, spent 5/6 days at a time in hospital every 3 weeks. On top of this attending a day of chemo every Wednesday for the day for 8/9 weeks. The cycles if all treatment works should finish at the end of July.

I am really not expecting anything at all, however any donations would be amazing as I have been advised I am unable to work for possibly the remainder of the year due to effects and changes that may need to be made.

i am happily more than open to talk about my experience, condition and updates as my treatment goes on.

please feel free to contact me if you want to chat about anything.

thank you for taking your time in reading! Means a lot.
