My name is Miguel Garcia, writer and director of The Trees Whisper at Night.

This film has been a dream of mine for years, and now it’s finally happening, right here in South Monterey County.

Set in the 1970s, The Trees Whisper at Night follows a naive, college bound girl who hitchhikes to campus and unknowingly accept a ride from a man hiding a dark secret... It’s an intense, emotional story about trust, danger, and growing up.

This isn’t just a film, it’s a community effort. We’ve partnered with Sol Treasures, a local nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the arts in our region. Together, our goal is bigger than just making a movie. After filming wraps, we're offering storytelling, screenwriting, and filmmaking workshops to local youth and adults to help foster the next generation of filmmakers using our film as a template.

Thanks to generous seed funding from the Arts Council for Monterey County, we’ve already secured essentials like permits, housing, camera rentals, props, and transportation for our principal cast, but now we’ve hit an unexpected wall…

We’re $8,000 short, and it’s a crucial gap. We need help covering the final costs: lighting, sound, food, Insurance, mileage reimbursements, and special effects makeup.

This is my first time leading a project of this scale, and I didn't anticipate the true cost of brining this vision to life. This project means the world to me and now it means a lot more to our entire cast and crew. If you can help us cross this final stretch, every dollar helps.
