THE PLOT:
Prominent theater actor Derek Vanguard is famous for his elite acting workshop at a university. Here, he selects and molds the future superstars of the entertainment industry. This year, he chose AJ as the sole participant leaving his roommate, Eli devastated. Yet, determined to learn the craft, the latter secretly observes the sessions to sneak tips from Derek.
When Derek discovers Eli’s covert learning, a dramatic confrontation ensues. Derek fears that Eli's burgeoning talent might overshadow AJ. He pleads with Eli to skip the audition, worried that Eli's success could tarnish both his image and AJ’s career. Eli then faces a tough decision: to honor the wishes of a mentor who neglected him or to pursue his lifelong dream. Albeit, at the potential expense of Derek's career and AJ's future.
Over a Lost Penny reaches its penultimate moment when this moral dilemma weighs down on Eli, placing him at a crossroads, testing his loyalty toward his ambition, and setting the stage for a tense and poignant resolution.
Your contributions will help us bring this story to life. With your help, we can create a thought-provoking film, fostering empathy and understanding in our audience.
Thank you for supporting our short film "Over a Lost Penny."
