Ovarian Cancer Research

About two months ago my incredible mom, Christy, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After a major surgery and the completion of her first round of chemo, I'm so grateful to say she's strong, beautiful, and embracing this journey with more grace and love than I could have imagined.
In her honor, my fiance Mark and I are running a half marathon June 18 and raising money for ovarian cancer research. Because of its rarity, ovarian cancer does not get the publicity that some other, more widespread diseases do even though its incredibly serious. It often goes undiagnosed for too long like it was with my mom because its symptoms present as other ailments. I hope and pray that with more funding, better diagnostic techniques can be found and more treatment options will be available. Thank you for all your support, love, and kind thoughts!
The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance is the largest global organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research while supporting women and their families. As the voice for ovarian cancer, OCRFA funds private research, advocates for increased federal research and awareness dollars and furthers policies that give women access to the services they need, as well as supports women and their families before, during and after a diagnosis.
