Ovarian cancer Natasha’s story continued

Donation protected
Hi my name is Natasha I am 49 years old I am married with one daughter, running is my
passion.
My journey started 15 years ago when I was
diagnosed with breast cancer DCIS (ductal
carcinoma in situ)
I had to face fine needle aspiration, deep core
biopsy and major surgery (double mastectomy)
It was an awful time, seeing my body
completely change and having to adjust to my new implants and having to think about
preparing a memory box for my daughter
thankfully the cancer was caught in time and I
didn’t require any further treatment,I was
tested for the BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 genes and I
didn’t have either mutation.
Fast forward to present day,
I was diagnosed with advanced high grade
serous ovarian cancer and given the
devastating news that I couldn’t be cured and
that the doctors could only prolong my life
(40% chance of living 5 years)
I have had chemotherapy,keyhole surgery,my
surgeon was unable to perform complex
debulking surgery at UHCW so I went to
London for the surgery,it has been absolutely
gruelling, after the major surgery I was put on
PARP inhibitors (Niraparib) sadly they didn’t
work, then I had the opportunity to participate
in a trial,my tumours were tested for a protein
called Folate Receptor Alpa and that came
back positive so I started the trial, yet again this hasn’t worked for me,I am now on another
type of chemotherapy, sadly my options are
running out.
I was on the documentary Hospital (series 7
episode 2) you can see my story there.
There is no apparent reason for me to have
developed cancer for a second time, what
destroys me more than anything is knowing
the pain, loss and complete devastation my
daughter will feel when I am gone,I am
saying this because my mum passed away age
41 of breast cancer, she never got to see me
marry or meet her granddaughter, this is going to happen to me too.
I am reaching out to everyone to help me raise funds for DCT (Dendritic cell therapy) this will
give me more time to make precious
memories with my husband,daughter and
family,thank you all so much.
Natasha.
