I was diagnosed in 2023 following an otherwise fit and healthy life. The initial disbelief, terror and then acceptance was followed by a gruelling year of treatments including surgery and chemo. The debilitation I felt whilst trying to stay alive made me resolute to make the most of every extra day I could gain. Through the researchers, clinicinans, friends, family, organisations such as Ovacome and other women who share my diagnosis I have rebuilt myself a new- different but fulfilling life.

I have been immensely privilaged to meet some incredible people who have helped me reshape my life and thrive not just survive.

Taking the opportinities to spend time with my family and friends- old and new, travel the world, fly a plane, speak about my experience and advocate for others continues to bring me joy and strength to push forward and maximise my time.

Like Sir Chris Hoy I want to help spread the message that even with the diagnosis of a stage 4 cancer we are not written off and we want everyone who provides us with care to do their utmost to help us continue to do what we love.

My husband and friends completed 3 challenges in 2024 including Hadrian's Wall and I was proud to join them for some 10 miles stretches, drive the mini bus and fit in an infusion at the hospital. Their positivity and enthusiasm propelled me on.

The shared experiences of woman I have met at Ovacome days, the Ovarian Cancer programe (CRUK) Cambridge and the Genomics England Participants show the amout of tenacity and endurance a person can find when their need is great. Thank you all, each and everyone of yourwhose path has crossed or intersected with mine and the wisdom and kindness that you have shared.

The funds are used to run education/wellness days, raise awareness, lobby for more

research and employ nurses to run a phone line to share their expert knowledge.
