My name is Olive. I'm 53 and have been healthy, hardworking, and independent for most of my life. My work has always been physically demanding (chef, landscaper, waitress, etc) as I am happiest when using my body.
Last October I was forced to leave my chef position due to unexplained painful lumps that appeared on my legs, arms, and back. It was diagnosed as Erythema Nodosum, a very rare and debilitating condition. No cause was found. In December it progressed to my right foot, making it difficult for me to stand or walk at all. In late February an MRI revealed that the talus bone in my ankle is dying. Countless blood tests, procedures and specialists have yet to pinpoint a cause.. At this juncture I cannot put any weight on that foot at all and am basically bedridden.
Your donation (thank you in advance!) will go towards three things.
1) Allow me to consult a well respected local Naturopath who can help find the root cause while working with my insurance covered physicians to heal the symptoms.
2)Pay off the $4000 owed on my off-grid home here in Taos, NM. My savings have been eaten up and I am terrified of losing my home, especially when I am this close to paying it off.
3)Finish building the greenhouse attached to my home. Not only will this help with my food budget; I believe that eating fresh organic vegetables is essential for my long term recovery.
Thank you again for any help you can give!
