Outside expenses for Janet & Al

In July of 2020, we found out my dad was in the advanced stages of liver disease. His only chance of survival was to receive a liver donor. When the angel we had lined up to donate fell through, we turned to social media to seek the impossible: another person willing to give us the gift of life.
On February 17th, our prayers were answered. Janet (Whalen) Alexander was approved to be my dad's living donor. We've known Janet our entire lives. She is an Our Lady of the Lakes alumni, graduated in 1992 with my sister Heidi. It's true what they say about Lakes: we are a family, and families help each other.
This gift Janet is giving us is overwhelming. She is a precious saint that is saving my dad's life. Her gift will allow him to be around to watch his grandkids grow up and allow him to fulfill his promise he made to my mom over 47 years ago: to grow old with her.
The surgery will take place on March 8th. Although insurance covers the medical expenses, both Janet and my dad will have to pay out of pocket for hotels, food, gas, etc. We are hoping we can come together and help them with these expenses to ease the burden.
Any funds raised over our goal will be donated to a charity dedicated to helping families and children with liver disease.
