Outpouring of love for the Hayes'

We would need to write a novel if we wanted to sum up the incredible life that Sherman has had so far and the lives the Hayes' have poured into over the years. For many of us, we have endured many seasons of life with them by our side. Thankfully, we have more time with Sherman to continue walking through all the messy bits of life and celebrating who he is! Truth be told, even if you've only met Sherman for a moment, you would leave feeling loved, seen and encouraged. Sherman lives a life that shows others what true fellowship is, faithfully serving with humility and has sparked the love of music and worship for so many. Now we get the honor of walking beside the Hayes' through a very hard season, a chance to help carry their burdens as they have done for many of us and encourage them when they are weary. December 4th began a massive medical journey for Sherman, a roller coaster of unknowns with several days where he was not expected to survive. 3 weeks later and he has finally been discharged from the hospital and made it home for Christmas; surviving multiple organ failure, delirium, pneumonia, and failure to thrive...BECAUSE GOD! There has been incredible support along the way that quite literally kept him alive, it truly has been profound to watch the outpouring. Now they look ahead to what is likely the hardest part of the journey-- his recovery and the aftermath of these weeks. The toll on the family from these weeks is massive in all ways; physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, but especially the financial impacts are staggering. Sherman has put everything into providing for family and friends during his entire career, unable to put much towards retirement and now facing the sudden loss of income and extended medical leave with an unknown end date. He is facing significant amounts of therapy to regain strength and daily functioning capacities, in-home care and specialty equipment, and heaps of medical bills with continued implications from the looming quadruple bypass ahead once his body can recover from all he has endured these weeks. They continue to need the miraculous in all ways, but as was the situation before, what seems daunting is not hopeless...BECAUSE GOD! In every season of the soul, HE is good and faithful. As the Hayes family continues to lean into Jesus and depend on HIM to be enough for each day, we exhort you to do the same. Hayes' village-- let's show up for them in any way we can!
