Why we’re raising funds
Everyday Bushcraft exists for one simple reason: to help people build resilience and confidence through practical outdoor skills.
In the bush, you learn fast that you’re capable of more than you think. You learn how to stay calm, solve problems, work as a team, and keep going when things are uncomfortable. Those lessons don’t stay in the bush — they come home with you.
But right now, the families who could benefit the most often have the least access.
The problem we’re trying to solve
For many low-income and underprivileged families, getting outdoors isn’t as simple as “just go camping.”
Cost barriers add up quickly:
• course fees
• transport
• basic gear (warm clothes, sleeping kit, packs)
• food and water
• time pressures and life stress
At the same time, many families are carrying heavy loads — financial stress, isolation, burnout, anxiety — and kids are spending more time on screens than ever. A reset in nature can be life-changing, but it’s often out of reach.
What Everyday Bushcraft teaches
Our programs teach five core outdoor skills (plus situational awareness), in a safe, supportive environment:
• Self-Aid – looking after yourself and others (first aid basics + emotional regulation)
• Knots – practical rope skills and the confidence that comes from mastering fundamentals
• Shelter – staying warm, dry and protected (and what “shelter” means in life too)
• Fire – safe fire lighting and the mindset of patience, preparation and persistence
• Water – finding, treating and managing water safely
• Situational Awareness – noticing what’s happening around you, reducing risk, and making better decisions
These aren’t “just bush skills.” They’re life skills: calm thinking, self-belief, teamwork, problem-solving, and safe decision-making.
What your support will fund
This fundraiser will create Everyday Bushcraft Access Places for low-income families, including:
• subsidised or fully-sponsored course spots for kids and parents
• gear support (loan kits for families who don’t have equipment)
• transport assistance for families who can’t get to the location
• food and water costs for program weekends
• materials and safety equipment to run programs properly
Our goal is to remove the barriers so families can simply turn up and learn.
Why it matters
When a child learns to light a fire safely, build a shelter, or navigate a challenge with a calm head, something shifts:
“I can do hard things.”
When parents and kids learn together, it strengthens connection and trust. It creates shared memories and new routines that don’t rely on screens. And it gives families tools they can use in everyday life — especially when life is tough.
How you can help
If you can donate, thank you — you’re directly helping families access training that builds confidence, capability, and hope.
If you can’t donate, you can still help massively by sharing this fundraiser with friends, community groups, schools, and local businesses.
Together, we can make sure Everyday Bushcraft is for everyone — not just those who can afford it.
Thank you for backing these families.
