Association Cats took on Macey, beautiful white cat who is deaf. She had been hit by a car and left for dead. After 3 months of survival she was finally strong enough to have her leg amputated. They found a lovely home, they thought, and on an impromptu visit found her living in a concrete yard outside and her stump was badly infected. She was removed immediately and taken back to the dog refuge. I was asked if I would take her and did not even have to think about it. So she came to live with me. Her other back leg was also affected but they managed to save it, however, she propels herself on her tail and leg. She does not have the force to stand on it, hence she can not go out.

In November we took on Hope. She was the most stunning kitten, found by the fire brigade on the motorway near Limoges. She had either fallen out of a car engine, or thrown by a car at high speed. She was 7 weeks old. She was taken to an emergency vet and was expected to die. The vet nurse took her under her wing for some TLC before passing. Hope had other ideas although she was blind, deaf and no smell. She was lovingly fed, toileted and when she was six months old the Vet nurse sadly had bad news herself and put out a shout for help. No-one answered her plea but someone sent the plea to me. I had to help not only for her but for Hope. She has recovered her eyesight and her hearing but not her sense of smell. She is still incontinent but slowly puppy pad training her. She can still only turn right too but she is such a delight.

Why am I launching a GoFundme.

We want to build a special pen so that Macey and Hope can enjoy the outside, fresh air and and get some sun on their faces. Not expensive we though but we need to build a concrete base and then lay a special floor, especially for Macey so she does not open old wounds. We also need a floor that can be cleaned after accidents with Hope.
