I'm an elder-millennial, gay guy who's fallen on some hard times over the last year.

I'm currently homeless in rural Ontario and I need some help to get my car safety inspected and repaired in order to keep carcamping near Algonquin this spring/summer.

I was living in Victoria BC for 18yrs and I was working as a contractor for the BC gov when they decided to terminate all contracts overnight last spring and things fell through with a new roommate of 1 month. So I put my things in storage and car camped on Vancouver island then made arrangements to return back to Ontario to stay with family in Westport. I tried living there for 9 months with very little work and so I was unable to afford switching my license and vehicle over. I am unable to qualify for Ontario welfare as just an OHIP card isn't enough for residency.

My housing situation was abysmal. The landlord was horribly neglectful to the point where the people I was staying with may lose their housing. The roof leaked, there was black mold, it was uninsulated, the floors and walls slanted, the kitchen cabinets were about to fall off the walls. The tenants also smoked and had 5 pets which was hard to live with.

So again I put my things in storage, found a new job 2 hours away in Bancroft, and I'm carcamping while i work full time. In order to make it work, I'll have to camp all spring and summer again. I can't afford to pay rent right now as I need to secure my vehicle and work to afford camping (food, gas, propane, supplies, cell phone, P.O. Box- it all adds up to quite a bit monthly).

I can't sell a 2008 out of province vehicle and I can't really bare to junk it as it runs fine and is my only security/shelter.

I'm raising funds for a safety inspection, any dreaded repairs that might come up, plates and a *license (not anymore, thank you!). Once my "shelter" with my car is looked after, I will need to focus on keeping my job while I car camp in surrounding areas close to Algonquin Park. Any donations towards camping supplies would be greatly appreciated.

-Any sized Jackery or Bluetti or similar power bank. I'm using just a small pocket battery which gets me 1 cell phone charge at night.

-Small green propane cylinders

-non slip work shoes for kitchens

-more large, heavy duty tarps

-collapsable camping tables

-kitchen accessories

-thermacel bug repellor

-gloves with text finger and thumb

-replacement queen air mattress, mine has a slow leak in the valve I can't fix
