Out of work expat raising funds 4 rent 2 keep apt.

Hello to all of my family, friends and fan base!

     I have resorted to starting this GoFundMe page in hopes of receiving some help from an emergency situation that I have found myself in while living abroad as an expat in Berlin Germany.  
.    Almost nine months ago, Christmas day to be exact, I moved from New York City to Berlin Germany on a 3 year freelance visa to work with a film producer making a documentary and film about my life.   Before arriving, the film producer assisted me through the vigorous process of looking for a temporary sublet flat / apt to live in until September when I would have to find another place to live.  That is until about three months ago when I had an unexpected knock on my door from a woman asking who I was and where was the legal tenant of the apt?  Of course confused,  I asked who she was and she stated that she was the landlord and that they had not received the rent for the apt in three months.  Furthermore, she stated that the original tenant was not given permission to sublet the apt.  
.    From the time that I moved in, I had been paying this guy who I now know was illegally subletting to me, a total of €1250 per month including a security deposit.  The landlord stated to me that the rent for the apt was not €1250, but in fact €760.  Realizing at that moment that I had been scammed out of thousands of euros, the question was,now what???  
    After, a few weeks of negotiations the landlord agreed that I could stay in the apt.  However, due to Covid-19, the rent would go up from €760 to €860 and by law he would have to put the apt back on the market.  This is where my emergency begins.  Even being out of work as a performing artist since March, I was able  to maintain the €1250 rent from the emergency stimulus given out here.  However, with rent being so high, I used all of the stimulus money to cover my rent from April to Aug.   I have even been able to cover myself with the lower rent with some small streams of income online and help from my closest friend. However, now as the soon to be new tenant of the apt, I have to come up with the security deposit and two months rent as any new tenant would.  
.    That is the emergency !!!  Since being out of work due to covid, I barely have enough money to eat after paying the new rent let alone coming up with an additional  3 months to keep the apt.   If I can not come up with the three months totaling €2580, then the apt will have to go back on the market after the 15th of this month when the lease expires.   I will be basically be homeless both here in Germany and In the U.S. because I gave up my apt there to move to Berlin.
     I have never been in a position where I could not do for myself.  I'm a firm believer that you should always work to take care of your financial responsibilities and obligations.  However, like many others in the entertainment industry,  there just isn't any work out there until many of the establishments reopen.  
     This brings me to why I am creating this GoFundMe page.  It is said that, "You have not, because you ask not!"  I am humbly reaching out today to all of my family, friends, and wonderful supporting fans to help me to raise €2580 in order to keep and stay in my apt while living abroad here in Germany.  If you can find it in your heart to donate even a dollar, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.   Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support .
