Out of Stock is a thesis film from Dodge College of Media Arts at Chapman University. In our senior year, we make a 20 minute movie that is a culmination of everything we've learned from our years at this wonderful school. This is the final project before we're real world filmmakers!

STORY
Out of Stock sets out to tell the true story of the 1973 toilet paper crisis. Back in December of '73, Johnny Carson made a joke that toilet paper was going out of stock, and by noon the next day, stores cross-country were completely sold out.
Our film brings that crazy story to the big screen! The film focuses on Julie, a 70s feminist who just wants to prove herself as a powerful woman at her grocery store job. When the toilet paper crisis hits, she does everything she can to restore calm, despite her money-obsessed boss who desperately tries to capitalize off the shortage.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
This story is significant to the whole team; we are so excited to bring this hilarious true story to life. The funds you donate will go towards recreating a world set in 1973, including everything from dressing locations, costumes, props, makeup, and that amazing movie magic to transport audiences back to this memorable era.
Bryan and Mariah and the rest of the team are pouring every ounce of themselves into this story and we just want to do it justice. We could all benefit from your donations; it would allow us creative freedom to make the movie we want you all to see.
