Out of country medical expenses

Donation protected
Hey all, As some of you may know Chris and I took a trip to Ireland the day after I got out of school for the summer. Unfortunately, towards the end of our trip I fell extremely ill and ended up being rushed to the hospital. I felt excruciating pain, became unconscious, and was immediately brought to the resuscitation area of the University of Galway. The doctors and nurses quickly realized that I was bleeding internally, but were unsure from where. They provided me with medications in hopes that wherever I was bleeding from would clot. The following morning my hemoglobin levels dropped extremely low. I was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit and an emergency surgery quickly followed. Upon creating an incision they found out that I had a larger amount of internal bleeding than they had suspected and that it was coming from my spleen. They removed my spleen and by some luck the surgery went very well. I am currently on the mend. The problem is that Chris and I will have to stay in Ireland for an undetermined amount of time. This means that on top of the medical expenses, we will have to continue to pay for lodging, a rental vehicle, meals, and a few other necessities. I am very stubborn, and hate asking for assistance, but at this point in time our options are very limited. This will require lifelong treatment and a lot of inconvenient adjustments, but I am thankful to be alive. I am requesting that you help out if you can to ease the burden during these difficult times. I will keep you posted and I appreciate any of you that have read this far and sent well wishes our way. All the best, Val & Chris
