'Out For Blood' is a horror film festival in Cambridge, UK which celebrates films made by people who identify within the queer/LGBTQIA+ community or films which portray queer/LGBTQIA+ characters and/or stories.
The festival is now entering its second year after a fantastic first festival in October 2018. In our first year we had a sold out event and had overwhelmingly positive feedback - with many festival goers stating that we would need to go even bigger in the future too keep up with demand!
For anyone who doesn't know, Cambridge is a wonderfully diverse city with a high population of queer/LGBTQIA+ people but there has been a distinct lack of and variety of events and spaces in which queer/LGBTQIA+ people can come together as a community.
'Out For Blood' offers the community a space to celebrate themselves through a refreshing and new social setting with fantastic entertainment which we hope will inspire people to create art and film which celebrates diversity. 'Out For Blood' receives short film submissions from across the globe and showcases the best submissions - as chosen by our queer/LGBTQIA+ film buff volunteer judges.
This year will be even bigger, queerer and spookier than last year - but we need your help!
We want to be able to host some of our filmmakers from around the globe so that they can speak at the festival and answer questions from our festival goers.
We want to build a thought provoking community zine with submissions of artwork, photography, poetry, short essays and stories about horror and film from queer/LGBTQIA+ people.
We want to host a pre-festival social for people to come together and talk about our community, the arts and film.
We want to ensure that this year people can take home merchandise to remember their time at the festival - last year we sold out immediately!
We also want to ensure that this year we don't run out of popcorn in the first hour of the festival opening!
There's so much we can do to really make this festival outstanding and grow - but we need a little help.
If you could spare even a little bit of cash, you would be giving us a huge helping hand to ensure that we can make this a great festival this year and the next, and the next...
