Support us with our #hope4teckels campaign as we jump out of a plane to help save our centre…
I have worked on reception at Teckels Animal Sanctuaries for 2 years. It really is a special place, not only for the animals that we rescue and care for but for the staff and volunteers too. During my time here I have built a particularly special relationship with one of our rescue dogs, Patch. He is currently our longest-standing resident, which breaks my heart as he is such a special boy that just needs a little patience and unconditional love. I often treat Patch to an afternoon out over the fields where he loves to mooch around and stop for a treat or two!
When it was announced that Teckels may have to close within 2 months if we didn’t reach our appeal goal, I knew that I had to take action, especially as Patch would be one of the most vulnerable dogs if we were forced to close our doors. I knew it needed to be something WILD to raise significant funds for our furry friends. So, I suggested what others are too timid to propose… let’s do a SKYDIVE! I must admit, it took a lot of pestering and persuasion, but I got there eventually and have now successfully recruited 6 other willing divers who will be taking one massive jump for Teckels on 12th August. The team consists of Teckels staff with a couple of family members too and we are each hoping to raise £1,000 which will go towards the #hope4teckels campaign.
Skydivers include:
Myself (Jill) – Receptionist
Cicely – Team Leader
Vikki – Fundraising & Events Manager
Conor - Kennel & Cattery Assistant
Steph - Kennel & Cattery Assistant
Ash – friend of Teckels
Ricky - friend of Teckels
Thank you so much for reading my story and for supporting a very important cause. We’ll see you when we land!
