Our Sweet and Lovely Alexa's Memorial FUND ~

I've been reading the posts to Alexa's FB over the past several days and I've noticed a common thread. We are all in shock, Alexa had unique connections to each of us, she loved us, we loved her, and now, she is greatly missed. Her life had impact as we watched her conquer cancer, endure numerous surgeries, watch over her younger brother with diabilities, and love love love her family. She was strong and sweet, a beautiful combination,

I'm Becky Claffy; Cameron and Hannah's mom.  They both knew Alexa for many years. Alexa was my son Cameron's soul mate - everyone who knew the two of them were sure of it!! My daughter Hannah met our sweet Alexa some 11 years ago at Eustis Highschool. Me? ... I began knowing Alexa some 5 years ago, first by noticing her FB posts. Each post seemed to POP off the page with her unique and witty sweetness. To myself I said, "this girl would be perfect for my son Cameron."They met sometime later with no help from me,  and for the next 4 years, they had the best relationship I've seen amoung two young people.  Alexa fit Cameron (and my entire family) like Cinderella's glass slipper.

Since her death on Saturday night, I've seen many beautiful stories. I've seen how Alexa touched so many people - I never doubted that. She had a knack for creating a unique connection with the people she loved and cared for.  For me, it was sunflowers, for my son Cameron, it was foxes. I noticed that she had this special connection with SO MANY PEOPLE. It's been beautiful to see.

WHAT WE CAN DO TODAY: Many of you know that the family has been financially depleted after the wake of Alexa's cancer treatments and recovery 8 years previously, and then again with her recent surgeries to fight infection and replace prosthetics in her leg. Her beloved mother, has been a "warrior" on Alexa's behalf for many years. Her eyes have also been focused on the medical needs of Alexa's beloved brother, Hunter.

There is NO money left for the family to have a memorial or a funeral of any kind for Alexa. I asked Alexa's mother today, "is there anything I can do for you or help you do? Yes there were just two things. 1) She wanted, soft "bootsocks" to keep her cold feet warm, and 2) she wanted to properly honor and provide services to bury her sweet Alexa.

There are many of us that are grieving....I think we need to ALL meet and honor Alexa's beautiful life. Think of all the beautiful (and unique) stories we can share with one another.

The average funeral service with burial is about $7,000 to $8,000. I'm placing the goal there.  We are still determining the vaious services to pursue and the pricing. Frankly however, even though Alexa's mom only wanted "two" things, I noticed a whole bunch more that was needed by her family;  basic provisions such as a reliable wheelchair forHunter (it's currently broken) , to a mechanical fix to the family car which no longer runs.

For now, we need to provide closure and we can make a beautiful memorial service happen if we join together with donations.

Please help make this happen.
