Mike Kennedy’s Road to Recovery

UPDATE: On June 8, 2019 around 4:30 am Eastern time, Mike succumbed to his injuries from his motorcycle accident that occurred on May 29, 2019 in North Carolina. Mike's family is working on the details of the memorial and would like to thank everyone for the generous donations. On Friday, May 24th Mike Kennedy left his home of Plattsmouth, Nebraska with four of his lifetime buddies to take a motorcycle trip to the East Coast. Mike wanted to see the Vietnam Memorial and the Pentagon. He wanted to drive through the mountains and the country. He stopped in to spend the night with his younger sister Patti and her family. He was having the time of his life!
On May 29th Mike was involved in a motorcycle accident in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is currently in ICU, unconscious with a brain injury, a break in back ribs sternum and right heel. He is responding to commands to wiggle fingers and toes, thumbs up and squeezes but he has yet to awake from his deep sleep.
Not only does Mike need prayers and good thoughts as he tries to heal his injuries but his family needs help with the financial burden of flying back and forth from Nebraska to North Carolina. Bonnie, Brandi and Justin will be taking time off of work, traveling to North Carolina, staying in hotels. All of this will put a strain on their livelihood. Not to mention, once Mike heals, they will need to provide the transportation back to Nebraska and the care that he will need in his recovery.
