Our Xena needs emergency surgery to walk again!
We rescued Xena about a year ago from a
family that could no longer take care of her.
Unfortunately, many french bulldogs come
with a set of health problems due to unethical breeding practices, as well as the breed’s
genetic predisposition.
Xena has developed Intervertebral Disk Back Disease, causing one of her spinal discs to be
dislodged on Sunday night, causing pain and an inability to walk. The surgery will cost
between $7,800 — $9,500 (includes hospital stay, X-rays, MRI, anesthesia and surgical
procedure.
She’s two years old and exudes bounds of
energy and playfulness, and is so incredibly
friendly to everyone she meets. We had no
doubt when taking Xena in because she was a beautiful addition to our family. We believe
she has so much more life to live and love to
give, after all she’s been through during her
short life. We just want to see her happy,
healthy, and feeling like herself again.
We wish it could be financially feasible, so
thank you genuinely for all of the help you can give. Please feel free to share our story.
We all love her so much!
