Help Mark and Minh, Valeo FC Family

Valeo FC will be donating $3,000 to help Mark and Minh through this challenging time. We hope that with your help we can double that amount. Please consider donating to help us reach $6,000. All the money raised will go directly to Mark and Minh Huynh. 

Mark Huynh and his dad Minh have been a part of the Valeo FC family for five years. Mark played for Valeo throughout his youth and still wears the Valeo uniform today as part of our NPSL team.

 

Unfortunately, a couple of months ago, Mark's dad was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer that begins in the lymphatic system and spreads throughout the body. He started feeling pain in his stomach in January and his son, Mark, drove home from college to take him to the hospital. A couple of days later, he was told the cancer had spread to multiple parts of his body and had been pressing on his kidney, making it difficult for him to eat or drink anything.

 

The only immediate family he had in Massachusetts was his son, Mark, who drove back and forth from college to visit and take care of him. Not soon after, Minh started chemotherapy treatment at Stanford Cancer Institute and has now done four of his six planned cycles.

 

Minh Huynh has worked as a landscaper and remodeler since immigrating to the United States. He has four sons and has worked hard to send them all to top colleges as first-generation students. He is the humblest and kind-hearted person you will ever meet.

 

Over the months since the diagnosis, Minh has not been able to work full-time or help provide for his son’s living expenses and tuition on top of his own living expenses and medical bills. As a result, Mark had to pick up more hours at his job to help pay for the costs in addition to managing his academics at Tufts University and offseason training on the varsity soccer team. The expenses are starting to catch up to the whole family.

 

Minh and his family need financial support to help them get through this time while he goes through treatment and does everything he can to get healthy and work to provide for his family again.
