Our Ukrainian friends need your help to move now!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dave Durand. This GoFundMe is a collaboration between my partners, friends and clients. The recent conflict in Ukraine has deeply saddened all of us. We have created a friendship and partnership over the last five years with a software development company in Kharkiv, Ukraine, called ProCoders. Now more than ever, they need our help to get out of the country and to safety - fast.
We have witnessed a despicable attack on a sovereign and innocent country. We have also felt a worldwide allegiance to support these great people in their fight during this difficult time. However, the damage continues to unfold, and every Ukrainian business and city will need our help.
This focused effort is to help the men and women of ProCoders take refuge in other parts of the world. They have endured so much the last few days, and with the relentless nature of their foe, we are uncertain as to how much longer the turmoil may continue.
Through Slack and Whatsapp, we are fortunate enough to have connections to our friends. We are getting updates and doing our best to help from afar.
Here is where they stand:
- Some of the men on the team are taking up arms and defending their country
- A bomb impact severely damaged their offices, and much of their equipment was destroyed
- Thankfully, some have fled to safety
- Some folks are stuck in attack zones and unable to leave / lacking the resources to do so
- Their infrastructure is now under attack, and that could impact food + water
The time to help is now.
These funds will help 50 of the ProCoders employees and their families seek refuge in safer countries.
These funds will help 50 of the ProCoders employees and their families seek refuge in safer countries.
On average, $1500 will be supplied to each staff member and their families for travel and to settle into their new locations.
As you can imagine, the idea of working with a Ukrainian company is a move that would be hard to justify under the current circumstances. Russia knows this and is most likely using this as a tactic to cripple the Ukrainian economy. However, we are doing our best from afar to help ProCoders staff find refuge in safer parts of the world. We are working closely with their CEO, Oleg, to help navigate this tumultuous time.
With our assistance, we can help Oleg provide timely capital for those in dire need of our help. The donation you make today will have a ripple effect across hundreds of people, so we thank you dearly for your support.
Thanks to Todd, Toby, Josh, Brian, Laura, Buddy, and so many more who are helping to make this happen.
We love you ProCoders - and we stand with Ukraine!
*Update 3.4.22: Many of the men in the country cannot leave at this point. We are determining who can leave, and who may want to get their families out first. We are also looking at immediate options for evacuation out of Kharkiv to safer ground. We will do our best to update the page regularly with our progress. Funds will only be used for these initiatives, and we will try and remain as transparent as possible during this process. Thank you!
