Our UCC Friend Brandon and Family Needs Our Help
Donation protected
My name is Nick and I am working with Julie Eagen to help raise funds for Brandon Woo and his family. Brandon graduated from and worked at UC Clermont College for many years in the campus testing center. His friends will tell you Brandon is funny, witty, and quick to smile. Brandon immensely enjoyed being a part of the mission of UCC to help first-generation students achieve their goals of a college education. Unfortunately, like many professionals during the pandemic, budgetary pressures led to Brandon being let go last August. A few months later, Brandon started developing neurological issues, which eventually led to a diagnosis of white matter disease of the brain. Unfortunately, there is no cure, and since February Brandon has started a slow cognitive decline, has lost about 70 pounds, and is now receiving palliative care. Brandon's condition is grave, and it is unknown how much longer he will be able to continue in his present condition.
As friends of Brandon's, we have decided to start a GoFundMe page to help Brandon and his family through this difficult time. From February to August, Brandon was without health insurance (he now has Medicaid). Brandon was the primary financial support for several family members, and his severance pay ended around the time his illness started in full force. All of this has created severe financial and emotional distress to Brandon and his family.
It is our desire to raise funds to help Brandon's family remain above water financially which, while will not help with the pain of losing a friend/son/colleague, might in some way alleviate the stress his family currently is enduring. The donation you make here will go to help pay medical bills, keep the family financially solvent, and pay for future funeral expenses.
We know many of us have had to deal with a lot the last year. We appreciate anything you can do to help out. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page to others. Thank you for taking the time to listen to Brandon's story.
