Trooper Memorial Fund: End of Life Expenses

Donation protected
UPDATE: 7/1/25
Its with confidence that I can say we tried our very best to save Trooper, from euthanasia, from Parvo, from all else she endured in her 15 short weeks on this earth and down to her very last breath. She was our sunshine, a little ray of hope so very full of life, but mostly, full of love.

Due to the emergency circumstances surrounding her final days, all funds collected thus far (up until 6/30) will be applied to pay bills we accumulated during the course of her Parvo treatment which she received in the compassionate hands of staff at Shorewood Animal Hospital.

Funds received today (7/1) and going forward will be used to cover the cost of her cremation through Trusted Jurney Cremation Services (Poynette, WI), as well as:
-the costs accumulated following her death to prevent illness from spreading to other dogs (ex. The cost of cleaning supplies to rid our house of the virus for our other dog Moon's safety and to purchase her new toys as her old ones had to be thrown out if unable to be cleaned, costs to sterilize our lawn to prevent neighbors dogs from being exposed, to replace towels, bedding and home essentials used to keep her comfortable in her final.days, etc)

Finally, should we be able to meet these costs with donations, we'd like to create a memorial garden in her (and Peanut's) memory.

We can't thank you enough for all you have done for our family. We will continue paying your kindness forward in the days and weeks ahead as we process her loss, and honor the short, beautiful time we had with her.
With gratitude,

Meet Trooper.
After losing my sweet girl Peanut, our other dog (Moon)'s health started declining due to her sadness.
We made the tough decision to save a life in our grief; we know it's what Peanut would've wanted and what Moon and our family's broken hearts needed.
Last week we adopted this little one. She was abandoned in rural (low income) Texas and was to be put down by a vet which im learning unfortunately happens very often down there.. A Spay and Neuter adoption agency intervened to stop that, care for her until she was ready and cleared for her forever home, and then drove her cross country to us in the middle of a national heat wave.

Unfortunately, Parvo thrives in heat.
By no fault of her own or anyone elses, Trooper was started on Parvo vaccines by the euthanasia vet too early, which leads to a drop in its effectiveness due to maternal genes still being present.

The adoption agency that saved her jad quarentined her when they took her in from the vet, and when she left Texas, she was Parvo free and there was no way to know if her vaccines would be effective in the future...

Unfortunatley, they were not.
And after stopping at a dog park to cool her off on her journey to us from Texas, this sweet pea contracted Parvo.

We have a wonderful vet who is helping us on an outpatient basis to avoid an otherwise 15k inpatient ICU stay to save her. He saw all we did to save Peanut and is determined to do all he can too so we dont lose this one as well.

Although hes doing it at a fraction of the cost, we still pay (understandably) for supplies, medicines, fluids, booster and exam fees for Moon, etc. And bleach, yard treatment and other supplies for our home and to prevent Parvo from spreading to Moon and other peoples pets who wander on our yard.

It seems cruel our biggest fear in getting a new dog is being realized a month after losing Peanut, but as with life, its the cards we are dealt and we are just grateful she found us and that we can be the ones holding/nursing her around the clock at this time.

We love her so very much already.

No need to reach out to me:
Just hoping for good vibes and understanding again. And help with the vet costs if at all possible. Please, do not feel pressured in the slightest; we will do our best to help her regardless ❤️ Our hands and hearts are full, grateful and terrified at this time.

Thanks guys.
