Penelope was born into the care of Pup Culture Rescue as the tiniest puppy in her litter—but from the very beginning, she proved she was anything but small in spirit. Spunky, determined, and full of life, she never let her size slow her down.
Just one month after finding her forever home, Penelope was rushed to the emergency room struggling to breathe. What followed was every adopter’s worst nightmare—extensive testing, including multiple echocardiograms and a CT scan, revealed not one, but two serious heart defects: Pulmonic Stenosis and Atrial Septal Defect (ASD).
Despite everything, Penelope continues to fight with the same brave, joyful spirit she’s always had.
To give her the long, happy life she deserves, her cardiologist has recommended a life-saving heart procedure when she reaches 6 months old. This delicate surgery, which involves placing a stent in her heart, will cost $15,000. In addition, Penelope will need ongoing care, including echocardiograms every 6 months for the rest of her life.
Penelope is already deeply loved by her adoptive family—but at Pup Culture Rescue, we live by one rule:
Once a Pup Culture dog, always a Pup Culture dog.
Our commitment doesn’t end at adoption. Penelope is, and always will be, part of the Pup Culture family. And family shows up when it matters most!
This surgery will give Penelope the chance to grow up. She will get to run, play, snuggle, and live the full, beautiful life every puppy deserves.
But we can’t do it alone.
We are asking our community to rally around Penelope, one of our beloved alumni. Every single donation, no matter how small, brings her one step closer to the life-saving care she desperately needs.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing her story can make all the difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us help Penelope.
