Our Sweet Maggie May
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Steve and we recently lost our neighbor of 22 years. I took on the task of finding his 3 year old Golden Retriever a new home. Romy, a coworker of mine said there's no way she would let the dog go to shelter and she would adopt her.
You have to know that Romy has 3 other dogs, some that have been rescued and some that have been adopted. She is the most caring person that I know and she would do anything for her dogs.
The dog had recently been spayed so Romy took her to her Vet to have the stitches removed. Once at the clinic the Vet found a small mass on her snout and did a biopsy. The results came back as level 2 cancer and she would need to have chemotherapy to treat it. They also did a biopsy on her lymph nodes to make sure the cancer had not spread. Once the results came back, they were positive for more cancer. She is far to young to have this life threatening disease! Romy's family has fallen in love with Maggie May and has decided to proceed with the chemotherapy treatments which are very expensive.
Romy adopted Maggie May out of the goodness of her heart and was not expecting to take on this challenge or possible heart ache. Maggie May is in a home full of love and has friends to play with and property to run. She loves her walks through the neighborhood and is always the first to get back to the door to have her feet wiped!
Our Pets are our lives. We recently lost our 10 year old Lab to cancer and now that we're aware it seems like it's very common. Please take your pets in for annual cancer screening, it progresses way to fast!
Romy is a very strong person and would never ask for help but I want to make a donation to help her family with the cost they are taking on. I'm sure it would help them out if you would consider doing the same. No donation is to big or too small.
Thank you so much!
