Our sweet kitten Heavy Machinery

Hi, my name is Chrissy and I'm raising funds for our sweet little 8 month old kitten Heavy Machinery. We adopted him from a local animal sanctuary in October of 2023. He is such a beautiful loving soul that completes our family. He hasn't been well, he has been lethargic, off balance and having some stomach issues. Just really not himself and really down. They tried an antibiotic and it didn't help. This is the second time he's been sick, we took him to the animal hospital back in November and he seemed to improve with treatment. He never fully recovered his full energy but he seemed well. Our Vet, this time around, thought it could be FIP. An uncurable virus, we were devastated when we heard this. We researched as much as we could and it lead to this amazing group( FIP warriors 5.0 ) that is dedicated to helping save cats with this virus by using a medication called GS-441524. With this virus, time is of the essence and he had declined so fast. We were told it would be best to start it asap. They were able to find us an emergency vial of the medication and it definitely has helped him alot. We can pick him up without him crying, he has so much more energy and is so playful. He is how a normal kitten is supposed to be. Although still off balance but its only been a few days of treatment. But today we received a negative result for FIP. Although, Apparently the FIP MRNA PCR has a 30% chance of a false negative and I was told that unfortunately a negative doesn't rule out FIP. He needs to have more bloodwork done and see neurologist for further testing. I will continue to treat him with the antiviral injections until then. I want to be able to give him the best chance possible of life. This has been costly and doing everything else that still needs to be done will be more. We would like to humblely ask for help for this sweet baby, so we are able to get him all the help he needs. Please if you are able to help it would mean the world to our family.
