Our SEND Summer Respite Club Needs You

 

 

 

Jesse's Place Foundation CIC  a not-for-profit organisation that supports parents and carers of children

and young people on the Autism spectrum. At Jesse's Place, we understand the negative impact isolation/lack of activities has on children and young people who live with autism or other disabilities and we want to do all we can to support families during this summer.

 

Many parents and carers dread the summer holidays. This is, even more, the

the case for parents and carers of children with disabilities who have limited access to clubs or extracurricular activities.

 

We need your help in raising £17,000, so children and young

people with autism and other disabilities can avoid spending their summer

holidays alone.

Your donation will fund 180 places for children and young people living in London, especially within Bexley and Greenwich local authorities. This is equivalent to 15 children and young people a day; over four days a week and over the three weeks programme.  While these children and young people are actively engaged, their parents and carers will also get the  respite they desperately need.

A survey by the Disability Sports Network revealed that 72% of children and

young people with disabilities feel lonely. Only 17% of children and young

people living with disabilities participate in clubs.

 

Children and young people with disabilities need holiday activities to promote

good mental health and social and emotional well-being.
