Hey friends!
I wish I could say that this is the first time I've done this but the past 2 years have been ROUGH. Just a brief rundown...
8/14/2023 - I got burned over 30+% of my body.
9/13/2023 - Tanya was admitted into the hospital for over a month with gram negative ecoli sepsis.
6/14/24 - Tanya spent a week in the hospital with pneumonia.
Summer 2014 I FINALLY was able to start to learn to type again with my burn affected hands
9/25/2024 - Tanya coded/flatlined/died 5 times with multisystem organ failure. She was given NO chance to survive but through prayer and love she pulled through and recently we celebrated her 1st "rebirthday". She was in the hospital for a month.
2/2025 to 4/2025- I began the long painful process of ruturing/tearing/separating muscles and tendons in my right arm and shoulder. The last to tear was my deltoid which I count as one of the most painful injuries I've had.
6/23/2025 - After vomiting and passing massive amounts of blood and enduring countless seizures it was discovered I had popped an ulcer. I had to receive 9 units of blood and 3 units of plasma. Due to where the ulcer is located it was explained to me that if it didn't close on its own the type of surgery I would require has a 40% mortality rate. Needless to say I've changed the way I now handle stress. This scenario also makes me ineligible for a shoulder surgery until at least the first of the year.
Present - I use a shoulder brace to keep my arm from falling off. More importantly Tanya has been falling SO much that she is back to using a walker.
To sustain us I have been doing Door Dash. I've tried finding a more legitimate job but Tanya's needs are so varied and now my inability to endure ANY stress - Door Dash is what we've had. Even through the shoulder stuff we were getting by. Tanya has had her first denial of disability and we're deep into our appeal - but Door Dash is what we have.
Since my hospital stay I just can't catch up. I am SO behind in fact that we have had no electricity for almost 4 weeks. We run the essentials off of a generator and I work as much as Tanya's needs and my body let me. Some days that's 16 hours. Some days that's 4 hours.
We NEED help. Unfortunately I was on a payment arrangement when it got turned off so not even that is an option. KY has different rules and regulations in what they allow and we've tried them ALL.
I am doing the best I can. I am CONFIDENT Tanya will be awarded disability - but that isn't happening today. After 2 years of hit after hit after hit - I just have no more rabbits to pull out of my hat. ANY help you would feel compelled to offer can be life changing for us at this point.
I appreciate your consideration. Things WILL get better. I just never imagined the storm would last this long.
