Throughout the past few years we have rescued and rehabilitated hundreds of dogs and found them forever homes.
We have rescued certain dogs that have needed a lot of extra care or whose injuries are so severe that they have been deemed un adoptable.

These dogs are all survivors, life may have beat them down and some have suffered at the hands of humans but the one thing they all have in common is their fighting spirit.

It would have been easy for them to let go, to slip away but luckily for us, they decided to stick around and we have committed to care of them and give them the best quality of life possible for as long as they’ll keep fighting.

Their needs are special, and the cost to care for them monthly is significant. We’re hoping to raise enough money to cover their expenses for the year. Any little bit helps, please consider donating to our special needs crew.

The crew:

Snoopy:
Found on the side of the road with a tumour so big he couldn’t eat and could barely breathe. was cancer free but the cancer came back and he’s undergoing additional treatment

Lucy:
Found under an abandoned taco truck. She dragged her body there after being run over by a car. She was pregnant, full term and all her babies had died on impact causing a huge infection. She would have died alone under the taco truck if we hadn’t found her.
We were told she would never walk again but with lots of therapy she is fully mobile.
She was then diagnosed with TVT, a transmissible cancer which we have treated and cured.

Pica:
Was run over by a car fracturing her vertebrae. Her injuries are so severe that her back legs are paralyzed and she is incontinent. Her back legs had been dragging so long she had infection in her legs and blood. She was hospitalized for numerous weeks. Her back legs are now slowly healing and she gets around quite well but will always be incontinent.

Tigrita:
Was found on a dirt road with a huge infected abscess on her eye. She was emaciated and suffering from kidney failure.
Her eye and her kidneys will never be normal but she’s full of life and love and with the right medication and monitoring she is thriving.

Chace:
Chace was somebody’s pet, he came into the clinic because a child had tried to draw eyelashes on his eyeball with a pen. The eye was left untreated for so long the infection was so bad it had taken over.
When the family was told he would lose his eye they never came back for him.

Margarita:
Margarita was found seeking some cool air at a local coffee shop during the peak of a heat wave. She was pregnant and had really aggressive heartworm combined with all the other common offenders here including ehrlichia, anaplasma and severe anemia. She is a senior girl and at around 8 years old it was a very long road to recovery for her.
Her weaker heart makes it difficult for her to fly therefore difficult to find a home for unless someone was willing to register her as their service dog and fly down to get her.
