Our Son’s recovery and rehabilitation
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to read our gofundme page.
Our aim is to raise some money for our 14 year old son Oliver. He was involved in the m53 bus crash last year in September which put our family in the scariest situation of our lives.
He has spent the last 7 months having his right leg rehabilitated and learning how to walk again. There have been 5 surgeries so far, he has missed practically his entire year 10 in school, and just plainly missed out on all of the normal things a teenager should be doing and having fun!
The money we would love to raise will be going towards furthering his Physiotherapy plan as far into the future as we can. The injuries he sustained are going to follow him into his adult life and we want to lessen any struggles as much as possible.
Also, a tutor. Oliver hasn’t been in full time education since the accident. He is currently in year 10 at Calday Grange Grammar School with his GCSE’s fast approaching. Oliver worked so hard to pass his 11+ exam to be accepted at Calday, and we can’t imagine all his hard work going to waste through no fault of his own. Getting him a tutor over the summer to help catch him up over the year he’s missed would be amazing. He’s a smart boy, but anyone would be struggling having missed so much of their education.
And thirdly, we just want him to have a fantastic summer. He needs a break, something fun and exciting to take his mind off the last 7 months. He has been so resilient and positive, and really shown us the man he is growing into and as a family we couldn’t be prouder of him.
We had some bad news this week in regards to his recovery, and unfortunately, operation number 6 is imminent. This is going to delay his physio, delay his return to school, and delay him getting back to life as it should be, hence the 3 main reasons for our gofundme.
If you can help our boy with even the smallest donation, we can’t thank you enough. And if you can’t donate, could you please share this far and wide so Oliver can get the extra help he so deserves. Both would mean so much to us!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Love, Ash Hayley and of course Oliver too.
