Our Sister, Lyvi Laber
Donation protected
In May of 2023, our sister Lyvi started having a variety of debilitating symptoms affecting her daily life and making her physically uncomfortable in her own skin. In April of 2024, she was diagnosed with an advanced stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Cancer wasn't the diagnosis we initially expected after a year of unknown, an auto-immune diagnosis, and a stall on the root of the problem, but we were relieved to get the answers she needed to start her journey towards healing and (we pray) being cancer-free. Lyv will be doing 6 months of intensive chemotherapy at the Mayo Hospital down in Rochester.
As Lyv enters her 4th round of chemo, medical bills, and travel expenses to and from Rochester on a bi-weekly, roundtrip basis... have unfortunately already accumulated. This has added extra stress on her and her husband, Chris. However, we are supporting them the best we can with what we've got. Lyv is inspiring, and selfless and has handled this with immense grace. Over the last year despite the debilitating symptoms and distress, you wouldn't have even been able to tell inside our girl was miserable. She has a long road ahead of her and not all days are easy. We do expect there to be a decline as she gets deeper into her treatment and she will be unable to work, do her photography or things she loves.
Nothing is expected, but anything is appreciated and very helpful to our beautiful sister at this time. Lyvi, and Chris, have received multiple inquiries from individuals interested in supporting her cause. We will not be doing a fundraiser or benefit event for Lyvi, so we hope this can be an outlet for those who would be interested in contributing their support.
