Our Sister Died Suddenly, Grandpa’s Dying— 7 Kids Left
Donation protected
I can barely believe I’m even writing this.
On the night of July 22nd at 8:32 PM, I lost my sister. She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from heart failure, leaving behind her seven beautiful children — all young, all devastated, and now without their mother.
Our entire family is in shock. None of us saw this coming. One moment she was here, laughing and loving, and the next… she was gone.
Now, my father and siblings are doing everything we can to raise her children with love, stability, and care. But the truth is — this is a lot. Emotionally. Financially. In every way. We are all grieving while also trying to figure out how to give these kids the support and safety they need.
Four of her children are moving in with my dad, and since he works 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, I’ll be caring for them often. I’ve been turning my garage into a kids’ space — with beds, air conditioning, and toys — so they feel safe and loved when they’re with me. I don’t have small kids, so I’m starting from scratch: beds, clothes, supplies, everything.
I’m also helping my dad with back-to-school clothes, shoes, and supplies — and saving up to give them their first Christmas without their mom, trying to create a little light in the middle of this heartbreak.
And if that wasn’t enough… our grandfather was just diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He had a stroke before he could tell us where his life insurance paperwork was, so I’m now responsible for covering his funeral costs upfront until we can get it sorted.
Everything feels so heavy right now. I’m overwhelmed. I’m hurting. We are trying to stay strong, but we can’t do this alone. I’m asking from the deepest part of my heart — please help us. If you’ve ever lost someone you love, or looked into the eyes of a grieving child, you know how much every bit of support matters.
Your donation will help:
• Support my sister’s seven children through this devastating loss
• Cover funeral and burial expenses for our beloved grandfather
• Create a safe space for the kids in my home while I care for them
• Help with back-to-school costs, daily care, and their first Christmas without their mom
Even just sharing this means the world. Please help us wrap these children in love, give our grandfather the farewell he deserves, and hold our family up during a time we never could’ve imagined.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
With love, Kye
