Help Andrea in her journey to heal from cancer

Please support our sister Andrea, her partner Harry and their infant son Kai as she grapples with stage 4 breast cancer.

In July, just weeks after giving birth to her son Kai, Andrea discovered a lump in her breast. This lump continued to grow through the postpartum period and just after Thanksgiving Andrea received the news that she has invasive ductal carcinoma. The cancer is fast growing and has already spread to her lymph system. Andrea began treatment in mid January, integrating both western and eastern medicine. To say this has been a harrowing time is a massive understatement.

When Andrea was 10, our father died of pancreatic cancer. Andrea carries the BRCA 1 Mutation, likely the same mutation that caused our father’s cancer. Losing a parent at a young age defined Andrea and emphasized the importance of a loving family unit in raising children. Parenting is a challenge in the best of circumstances and as independent contractors Harry and Andrea don’t have paid sick time or long term disability. Please help Andrea be a mother to Kai by removing some stress from this financial burden.

It is unclear what the road ahead will bring. It is a scary time and we know that it will take all of us to help Andrea survive and heal.
