On Wednesday, January 8th, our sister Lucy Bloom-Hagerty and brother-in-law Kevin Hagerty (Kate's mom and dad) tragically lost their home to the Eaton fire in Altadena, CA.
Fortunately, they had evacuated Tuesday night around 9 pm after the fires began, taking only their electronic devices, passports, and enough clothes for a couple of days, never imagining they wouldn’t be able to return to their house. Now, they are faced with inconceivable loss and the overwhelming challenge of piecing their lives back together.
Lucy and Kevin have lived in Altadena for years and cherished their community, now completely decimated. They have been lifelong educators in LA area schools - Lucy as a speech therapist, Kevin as a Phys Ed teacher.

If you are able, please consider supporting Lucy and Kevin as they recover from this devastating tragedy. 100% of your contributions will go directly to them, helping with urgent uncovered expenses such as temporary housing and other critical essentials. Every donation—no matter the amount—will make a meaningful difference as they build their lives from the ground up.
We deeply appreciate any assistance you can provide. Please feel free to share this GoFundMe page with friends and family who may also want to help.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this incredibly difficult time.
With love,
Lucy's sisters Kari and Claudia
