Cancer Support Fund for Renee Castro

Dear Family and Friends,

For those who may not know, our sister Renee was diagnosed with Mucosal Melanoma cancer in June 2024. The news was absolutely devastating for all of us. Since then, she has shown incredible strength, battling this rare and aggressive cancer for the past eight months. Throughout this journey, Renee has undergone immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and three surgeries. Unfortunately, the immunotherapy did not work as we had hoped it would and she now has stage 4 cancer.

Next week, Renee will begin an intensive new treatment called TILS at Stanford Cancer Center, which was only FDA-approved last February. We are hopeful that this will be the treatment that will save our sister’s life.

This battle has taken an immense toll on Renee physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. On top of that, it has put a heavy financial strain on the family. Renee has not been able to work since her diagnosis, and Henry has been balancing his job while caring for her, especially after her surgeries and during the difficult early days following the diagnosis. The upcoming treatment will require Henry to take another six weeks off from work.

Renee and Henry are deeply grateful to all of you who have reached out with flowers, prayers, and words of comfort. Many of you have asked how you can help, and we now find ourselves needing to reach out for that support. It’s humbling and vulnerable to ask, but we are in need of financial assistance to help Renee and Henry pay the growing medical bills. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
