Our Short Legged Bears' Medical Expenses

Hi Friends & Family,

 

Last night, one of our fur babies, Ditto, had to be rushed to the ER for intractable vomiting and noticeable discomfort.

After overnight observation for fluids, lab work, and scans, the internist informed us that Ditto will need emergent surgery to remove her gallbladder before it ruptures and causes her to become septic. Additionally, her spleen will be removed for multiple nodules and her liver will be biopsied for an underlying issue. 

 

Audra and I are both devastated by this, though we remain optimistic and know that even at 11 years old, she has so much more life and memories to share with us.

 

Furthermore, our Bambi has been experiencing a set of challenges with her health. She was recently diagnosed with an unresectable cancer of the bladder lining after what was initially thought to be recurrent UTIs.

 

Her first round of chemo was debilitating, but after her second round, she has turned the corner towards returning to her former playful self. She will need additional supportive meds throughout her treatment plan. Like our Ditto, she still has so much life in her.

 

We’ve financially prepared ourselves for Bambi’s cancer treatments and have been able to cover a few unexpected visits to specialists for both of them within the last month, but this emergent surgery has put us in a bind. We’re still able to cover most of these medical expenses, but unfortunately, not all. It is difficult for us to ask for help, but if you are in a position to donate, my family would be truly grateful.
