Our science baby
Hi,
My name is Elizabeth, I’m a few weeks shy of turning 29, born and raised in San Diego. Those who know me know I’ve always wanted kids and loved working with them in the past! My fiancé and I have been together for 10+ years and over those years we have definitely been through some tough times. As we got older we both got more excited to grow a little family of our own. While trying we did learn that it was difficult for us to conceive. After several doctors visits and being told several different thing I was finally diagnosed with PCOS. A hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.
The cause of polycystic ovary syndrome isn't well understood, but may involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. After speaking with a doctor in the San Diego area and after spending already several hundred dollars in just the intake process we were told it would be +30K for IVF treatments without medication. I was obviously hurt by the news but still wanted to hold on to the little hope I had left. Due to financial hardship with the prices in San Diego I was recommended to a fertility clinic in MX. After speaking with the doctor he had made me feel like we have a very high chance of getting pregnant. The doctors helped with answering my questions and starting my intake process. The rate that is WITH medication and exams, egg transfer came to be 7,500 US dollars. So that’s where I am today. Although the price is way less than the clinics in San Diego my fiancé and I still have lots of responsibilities and family support that I can’t ignore. It’s taking me everything to even try this because I’ve never asked for help even when I needed it the most. If you are fortunate enough to help my fiancé and I would greatly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. Our hope is to raise as much as we can so that we can start trying for a family sooner.
