Set in the heart of our beautiful countryside, our rural primary school is growing from strength to strength. In Aughadarragh, we are blessed to have an unspoilt location; an area of natural beauty. We aim to meet the needs of our children each day and place an emphasis on using positive social and emotional support activities that help build self-esteem and a sense of identity.

Within a growing school community, the range of needs of our children also grows. In our attempts to enhance our pupils development, we employ Nurturing Strategies which include confidence building activities, moulding positive mindsets, sensory activities, arts and crafts (often with natural resources), along with mindfulness activities. We also have trained members of staff who lead our Sensory Motor Group training sessions.

However, we need additional funding to bring our level of resources forward. We are reaching out to you to help us raise funds for a Nurturing Cabin which we could add to our school.

Our Vision

This cabin could provide our school with the following:

- a safe, quiet space for our children when needed.

- a special place for our children, parents and staff to use in times of need, eg meeting to discuss support needed.

- a practical room for our Sensory Motor training groups; with specialist equipment, furniture and simply floor space to carry out our practices.

- a calm corner within our school grounds.

To conclude, we have countless ideas for this cabin and we would love to see our dreams and visions become a reality. Our children’s environment will be further enhanced and with a space like this we can improve our range of activities which are all grounded in a vision to improve our pupils wellbeing.
