Our Rhonda…
Last Monday Rhonda went into her doctors office for, what we thought was, a UTI. She was suffering more than a typical infection so her doctors ran some tests to find out the cause.

Cancer…..

Her kidney has a large tumor.
Our sweet Rhonda has cancer.

Specifically- Renal Cell Carcinoma

Those of us who love her can't make heads nor tails of this. She had zero symptoms prior to this UTI. In fact, this cancer doesn’t present itself before it's too late.
As cruel as this sounds, we are all thankful for the UTI! Had she not become stricken with one that needed extra attention…….well we don't want to think down that path.

What does this mean for Rhonda?

Surgery…..

They will remove her kidney and as much of her ureter as possible, in the middle of March.

Why not sooner?

Her body needs time to be prepared for the procedure. The date of surgery is the very soonest it can be done.

She needs your help.

Prayers!!

She may need treatment once the procedure is completed. She won’t know until after the doctor's findings during surgery and pending pathology. Please pray they find it hasn’t spread when they open her up and pray her results show it hasn’t caused problems in other parts of her body.

Rhonda will need to take many weeks off from work. This is a very hard surgery and her recovery will be long.

She can't afford this.

Her insurance will cover a fraction of what the cost will be. Our healthcare limits what it’ll pay unless you have specialized insurance.

Who knew cancer would be something she would have to deal with? It's here nor there at this point. Hindsight is 20/20.

She has her day to day life and it's expenses that can’t be set aside. Her bills are the same as yours and mine. They can't go unpaid. Without work, she will not be paid. She is looking for work that she can do while she recovers from home. Personally, I don’t think someone who is trying to recover from kidney/cancer removal surgery, should have to work while recovering. It's draining already and if she needs any type of therapy she'll be exhausted.

Its my understanding this recovery is one of the very hardest.

David would like to stay home to help his wife while she recovers, too. He loves her so much and wants to be there for her. He has limited time available to him. She needs him there for as long as he can. He is her rock and her softplace. He won’t get paid to take time off.

They need your help.

It took a lot for me to convince them to let me ask for help for them on their behalf.

They are very humble.

Their words were……It's just money.

I hate that it always comes down to that.

Just money……

Sure it’s just money. No amount is as valuable as Rhonda. I just think that there are so many who love her who would want to help so she isn't stressed when her life goes back to “as normal” as it can after having cancer.

Would you consider a donation? If so, please consider this gofundme.

I know you're asking yourself about her prognosis.

It's not grim but it will be a long haul! Her body will need to adapt to only one kidney. Her anxiety will need to be limited while her hormones adjust.

Would you help make that recovery easier on her?

Thanks for reading this.

Please pray no matter what?

Our sweet Rhonda has cancer.

I hate typing that!

I hate cancer!!!!
