Terrence Race to Victory

Our voyage would begin on September 3, 2023 when Terrence (affectionately known as Hadley) suddenly fainted and became unresponsive without reason. He would be rushed via ambulance to hospital, where they'd diagnose him with atrial fibrillation and kidney disease. Physicians would work together and create a treatment plan for these elements and monitor his health closely. Medications seem to be doing the job and all was presumed to be well. Then after follow up labs and further testing, Hadley was unfortunately diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on November 30th. Devastating to say the least. Oncologist wanted to begin treating this aggressive cancer ASAP. However, they'd allow him to enjoy holidays with his family. Then on January 22, 2024 he had his first chemo treatment. Treatments would be done weekly from that point. Tameka would become his sole support person. Providing all the care for him and their family. Terrence was a trooper throughout the process and was still working after starting chemotherapy. He had just started a new job that he absolutely loved and adored. God is so amazing because He gave him strength to keep pushing, even on his weak days.
Then on February 4, 2024 we faced another obstacle, Hadley became very ill with high fever, excruciating pain, nausea and extreme fatigue. Again, he had to be rushed to the emergency department and admitted into the hospital. This time, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and a bowel obstruction. At this point, his team of doctors felt that his immune system was weak and it would be in his best interest to stop working and take FMLA. This would allow him to receive short term disability. Although he was not a happy camper to stop working, he was just grateful that he had been at new job long enough to receive benefits.
Then BOOM, what happens? On February 21, 2024 his claim was denied....Stating that he was days short from being fully qualified. This was a new level of heart break. So now he is fighting cancer, and the loss of his income. This was definitely a hard pill to swallow, but we trust God and know Him to be a WAY MAKER, MIRACLE WORKER, PROMISE KEEPER and LIGHT in darkness. So we begin praying, knowing that God will make a way! Someway, somehow!
Although we still have a long journey ahead, we won't give up. Following chemotherapy treatments, Hadley will have a stem cell transplant. We are trusting GOD for a full recovery, refreshed spirit and a renewed mindset.
Everytime one finds out about this battle, they ask what can we do to help? We've been quiet but today, we speak..........
First we ask that you pray for Hadley's continued fight and recovery. Second, we put all pride aside and give you the opportunity to be a blessing to our family during this time of need. This will definitely help lessen the financial strain due to loss of income.
No amount is too small and anything given will be accepted, put to good use and greatly appreciated.
Third, we ask God that whatever you give, we pray it comes back TENFOLD!
May God bless each and everyone of you that took time to read our story.
Lookout and Be READY for our VICTORY, because this is NOT the end of our story and when it's all over, we will be sure GOD receives all the glory!
