Our Queen, Our Fighter, Our Hero: Layla Rivera

Where do I even begin to describe the most beautiful Queen whom my sister and I call mom. Many of you know her as Layla. She is a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, but most importantly over the last 8 months a “fighter.” Our mom is our hero and an inspiration to our family.

In February 2021 our Queen was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer. It has been a ride with many ups and downs, but she never gave up and still continues to fight. Every time the doctors would come up with a different treatment her exact words were “let’s go, let’s do this.” She has been positive since day one.

We have received some unfortunate news from the doctors recently regarding the cancer progressing and the chemo treatments are no longer effective. Our Mom’s time with us here on Earth is limited and she will soon be called to be with our Lord and Savior.

We are asking for help during this time to help alleviate the financial stress. We kindly ask, if you are able to, to donate funds towards funeral services, as we hope to carry out all of our Mom’s final wishes.
