Our puppy has Parvo and needs help

Donation protected
On Wednesday night (01/16), our worst fear became a reality when our new puppy tested positive for the Parvovirus. We had just adopted him on Monday and are certain that he came with this infection. Now the responsibility to save his life lies on our shoulders. He recently came home for outpatient care after 5 days in the ICU at  DoveLewis, a 24hr Pet ER where were costs over $1,200/day including even higher admission costs, and costs of an ultra-sound to discover if he would need surgery or not. Fortunately he does not need surgery. The care necessary for his survival has put us in a financial crisis and the only way we are going to be able to save his life is with your help.

His name is Queso, an 11 week old O'Doodle. His mother is an Irish Setter/Golden Retriever and his dad is a Poodle. He came from a litter of eight in Indiana, and at this point all other puppies are fine. At DoveLewis, patients are required to pay as they go. We have had to open new credit card accounts to do this, including CareCredit. In outpatient care, Queso requires constant attention and continued medications. Costs continue to climb day by day, as we have to miss work and hire help, and total costs could total over $10,000. Queso is getting better everyday, but is still fighting the disease, with many ups and downs. With proper care, his chances of survival remain high.

We have a hard time asking people for money but in this situation it has been the only option. If you want to contribute to the Queso's continued treatment please donate in any way you can, or share Queso’s story.

-We continue to look into credit options, charities, grants, comparing facility care and costs, and applying for aid as options for support. We have only had moderate success with these avenues, which is why we have turned to public outreach via GoFundMe.  Thank you everyone who has contributed, it is making a world of a difference. My partner and I can finally breath knowing we can say yes to recommended care. If anyone has any recommendations of charities or other avenues of outreach please let us know.

Our families, close friends, the breeder and all of our communities are putting in effort into saving this dog. This is a type of situation that is too much for one person so we need to work as a community. We are so thankful for everyone's compassion and generosity.

Love,

Dan and Grace
