Our Problems were many before this medical emergency.

Hi my name is Michael Koontz. My wife Jamie and I are struggling to make ends meat this month , we have lost $2,960 of income making it impossible to pay our bills. On December 1st I began bleeding from my GI tract. Between Monday Dec.2nd till Friday Dec. 6th I lost so much blood that my Hemoglobin levels went from 15.3 to 7.5. After 2 CT scans with contrast and colonoscopy endoscopy it was determined that I have a prolapse with Bleeding hemorrhoids that needed to be carterized, 3 polyps that had to be removed and determined that I have diverticulosis with inflamed bowels that need outpatient surgery. We don't have insurance, so the surgery will be out-of-pocket. The surgery has to be done or I will begin bleeding again. I already am. At last check, my hemaglobin level was up to 9.1. Blood transfusions have to be done at 7. I received an iron infusion which left a really large thrombosis. It is about 3 and a 1/2 inches long. I have not been released to go back to work because they don't want me to end up with blood clots Spread throughout my body, making it possible for these clots to enter my arteries. Our primary concern at this point in time is being able to pay our bills and come up with the money for the surgery that will have to be paid for out-of-pocket. We applied for insurance through the marketplace, and at this point we cannot afford the premium. If we can pay the premium and the surgery is after the first of the year Some of it could be covered by insurance but we would still have to come out of pocket because that's the kind of insurance we were able to afford. Throughout this process i have bills from 3 different hospitals that we can't afford to pay. We don't qualify for financial assistance because Jamie still makes too much money And she just took on a second job to try to help us make it. Depending on the severity of how bad I'm bleeding at the time of my surgery consult on Friday Will determine whether my surgery will be after the first of the year or as soon as possible. I am having major physical diffaculties consisting of chest pains headaches and extreme dizziness, as well as high Blood Pressure, fast heart rate and low oxygen saturation. I have all my medical records. The results of all my scans and procedures, if you feel the need to see them. We really need some help please. I have many misgivings about how my situation was handled by the hospitals I went to, but that's a battle for a different day. I know the timing is really bad Being the holidays and all, but if you have it just to spare a couple of dollars, anything that we receive will help us tackle our problem. I also have mental health issues that I am trying to deal with, with the help of a psychiatrist. On January 1st I have a meeting with the Social Security Administration to file for disability.
