For the past two years, our mom has been in and out of hospitals in Wilmington and at Duke, seeing some of the top doctors in the world—endless appointments, long days in waiting rooms, and still no clear answers. Her symptoms, compounded by frequent falls connected to her physical disability, have only grown more severe.
After months of advocacy and logistical hurdles, her case was finally accepted at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota—a massive breakthrough that gives us hope. But in the middle of this small victory, our parents are losing their home.
This has pushed us to the brink. Both of us, their daughters, have done everything in our power to support them while trying to keep our own lives afloat. But the emergency loss of our parents’ home, on top of our mom’s declining health, is more than we can handle alone.
We are asking for help to secure one year of safe rental housing for our parents. This stability will allow our family to shift from crisis mode to a hopeful recovery.
Your support will cover the essential costs of moving, rent, and basic living expenses—relief that will ensure our parents have a safe home while we continue this fight for answers.

This is what aging in America looks like when you don’t have wealth. Our parents worked hard their whole lives—our dad as a freelance general contractor, and our mom, who was denied many jobs because she was labeled a “fall risk,” but still cared for the elderly until her illness forced her to stop working altogether. Without retirement plans or benefits, there is no safety net.
Your support will give them one year of stability, dignity, and hope while our mom undergoes critical care. Thank so much everyone <3
