Our Papa Gege ❤️

❤️Dearest Friends and Family,

I’m reaching out as my beloved father-in-law, Gerard, or Papa Gege as we knew him, sadly passed away suddenly on Friday, August 18th, 2023. Gege was a wonderful loving father, devoted husband, and the sweetest animal lover who deeply touched the lives of all those around him. He leaves behind his wife, Lysiane (Lilli) and daughters, Pascale and Karine.

Gege dedicated his life to his family and had many passions and interests! He was highly mechanically talented and could be found on any given day around the house fixing things up, tinkering in his work shed, or lovingly repairing anything we brought him with a simple request… “Papa, can you fix this?”. He was also a wonderful gardener, amazing secret home chef with his personal touch homemade pizza & bread creations, fragrant savory soups, and original smoothies, who lovingly always made large quantities of everything to share between his family, friends, and neighbors! Papa Gege LOVED animals as well, having 8 rescue dogs and 5 rescue cats (many brought over from France!) who he treated as if they were his own children… so gentle with them, so kind.. he had a gentle charm about him and he made sure to always make you feel welcome and loved! He loved his wife, Lili, too… so so much, and would do anything to make sure she was taken care of.. often playing table games together and completing miles & miles of puzzles together, each with a purring kitty or puppy in their lap. Life was good.

We are all absolutely devastated and shocked by Papa Gege’s sudden accidental death and were not financially prepared for the high costs of funeral home services and related expenses. We want to give Papa Gege the celebration of life memorial he would have wanted, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.

We would like to raise $15,000 in donations to help cover the cost of Papa Gege’s celebration of life services including cremation, beautiful urn, and a private family service to honor him. Any additional funds will also go to support his widow, Lili, family, and beloved rescue pets during this difficult time.
