Our New Puppy is in the Hospital
Donation protected
Hi, for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Sundae. I’m a Kindergarten/1st grade teacher, and a mom of 4. My husband, Justin, is in the military (so he is gone often) and after losing our 15 year old dog last year, we recently decided to start fostering some pups.
When we started fostering puppy #2, we all fell in love with her. She was playful and so sweet and gentle with the kids. She wanted nothing more than to be cuddled up by our feet chewing on her favorite stuffed bear. After only a few days with us, we decided to adopt her and we named her Summer. After only 6 days with us, Summer became very sick. After bringing her to the emergency vet, we found out she had Canine Parvovirus. At 11 weeks old, she was very susceptible to it, but she’s a tough puppy so we have been hopefully, even though the vet’s last update was that she’s “on thin ice”.
Of course an emergency vet trip, an at least 3 day stay for a deadly puppy virus is extremely costly. At this point we are already at $3,500 and there’s still phone calls about x-rays being done, extra medicine, special kind of food since she won’t eat, etc. We told them to do what they need to do to try to save her and we’ll figure it out, but to be honest, I’m not sure how we’ll “figure it out”. If there’s anything you can do to help us help this little princess, it would be greatly and forever appreciated, even sharing this fundraiser is a great help.
